Soft power, Hallyu, Medical tourism, South KoreaAbstract
Throughout history, states have sought to positively influence other countries through their values, culture, and policies, a concept known as soft power strategy. South Korea has capitalized on its growing popular culture, known as Hallyu, which emerged in the 1990s and has gained international recognition. This phenomenon has fueled the growth of tourism in the country and led it to venture into medical tourism, leveraging its advanced technology in this sector. The convergence of medical tourism and Hallyu has solidified South Korea as one of the world’s leading medical destinations. This study aims to explore the relationships between the actors and policies involved in promoting medical tourism, as well as their contribution to South Korea's soft power strategy.
